From time to time I read the Soul Cycle articles that relate to everything healthy, exercise, and life changes. Don’t worry, I didn’t know they existed either until a few months ago but check it out on their site under “community”.

One of the newest articles mentioned that we should be more mindful in May. This includes adding mediation in your daily routine. Stop the world for a minute or two and just focus on your breathing and center yourself. I actually set this goal for Lent this year (yes I realize Lent is used for giving something up), but I also wanted to use this time to get closer to God. Not that I’m very spiritual, I thought that setting a reminder everyday at 10pm to just sit, close my eyes, and focus on my breathing, would help with my anxiety, think of Him, and just kinda slow down the world a bit. I think we get so caught up in our day that we forget to pause, and it’s really important, otherwise you’ll go crazy!

I’m happy to report that I took a minute to meditate everyday for 40 days. Now it’s every few days but it’s definitely something important to schedule in your day, especially after a stressful day.
