Cleaning Out My Closet – Summer 2015
It’s 10:37pm and I’m exhausted.
I’ve been up since 5:30am to be at work by 7am, so to say I’m exhausted is an understatement. Yet ask I was brainstorming outfit ideas for tomorrow, I started going through all my jeans and making a pile of all the denim I had that no longer fit, I no longer liked the wash, or I just never wore them. Going through those drawers led to me getting rid of some leggings, sweaters, pjs, sweatshirts, and quite a few tops. I got rid of all the tops that never really fit quite right (which I seemed to have a few of), graphic tees that I’ve worn soo many times I just can’t wear them again, and things I wore back in the day, but no longer goes with my style.
I wish I could burn or bury all of my blazers, but that’s a different story.
After two or three hours of piling, organizing, and putting all the items I don’t want in bags, I feel like my closet represents my style more than ever now! Since my 30 day wardrobe challenge will be over here shortly, I want to make room for the basics I’m actually going to wear. I’m slowly making a list of needs to add to my closet. I’m not worrying about quantity but quality. I have a good foundation, but I want a couple pair of great basic denim, a few cute tops I can wear over and over, and probably a few new pairs of shoes. I’m actually wanting to wear more than just boots, so I figured I should actually make room for a couple pair of new shoes.
That’s the next area I have to work on in my closet…the shoe section. Wish me luck!
